BILL Network sandbox setup

The BILL sandbox environment is a standalone test environment. Before you can test the BILL Network workflow with the API, you must add a vendor organization to the BILL Network.

In this example workflow, to search for a vendor organization named Happy Music Supplies in the BILL Network, follow the steps in this section to add a vendor organization named Happy Music Supplies to the BILL Network in your sandbox environment.

Set up a vendor record in your BILL organization

Sign in to the BILL web app in your sandbox environment.

1. Click Vendors in the navigation menu.
2. Click Add Vendor.
3. Enter vendor details and click Continue.

4. In the next step, click Invite vendor (recommended), and then click Continue.
5. Under Review vendor details, click Save vendor.

At this point, a vendor record is set up in your BILL organization.

Accept invitation by email

When BILL sends an invitation to the provided email address, accept the invitation for signing up to create a free BILL account as Happy Music Supplies.

1. Enter any first name and last name, and set a password.
2. Complete the MFA security requirements. Enter a mobile number and click Send code. BILL sends a six-digit code to the mobile number.
3. Enter the six-digit code sent to the mobile number.
4. In the next step, BILL provides additional features as part of the sign-up process. For this setup, click No, skip this.
5. Enter vendor business details and click Submit.

7. In the next step, BILL provides the option to accept virtual card payments. For this setup, click No, Use Bank Transfers.
8. Enter vendor bank account details and click Save and finish.

9. Select Standard-ACH delivery as the payment speed, and click Save payment speed.

The vendor setup is complete, and Happy Music Supplies is added to the BILL Network in your sandbox environment.

Complete identity verification

Identity verification may be optional

If you do not see the option to verify your identity, this free BILL account does not require you to complete identity verification.

In the free BILL organization that is created for Happy Music Supplies, complete identity verification to enable electronic payments.

1. Click Overview in the navigation menu.
2. Click Verify my identity to begin the verification process.
3. Click Answer questions in the Choose how to verify modal.
4. Enter identity information and click Continue.

5. Select the final option for each question in step two of the verification process and click Continue.

The identity verification process is complete. Continue the BILL Network workflow with Connect with a vendor in the BILL Network.
