Update an accounting class

Update an accounting class object.

What is an accounting class?

In a business with multiple departments, an accounting class object is useful for tracking revenue and expenses associated with each department. You can sync your account classes with your choice of accounting software or import using a CSV file.

For example, in your cake baking business with two departments - listed cakes and custom cakes, use an accounting class to track revenue and expenses for each department.

In accounting practice, accounting class and department are used interchangeably to track revenue and expenses not maintained at the chart of accounts level. In Intuit QuickBooks, classes map to departments in BILL.

You can set the created object as your accounting class when you create bills or invoices.
